Downtown Clemson’s long-running streetscape project is entering its final stretch, with construction crews making significant progress on sidewalks, stormwater improvements, and public spaces. Sidewalk Construction Continues Along College Avenue

Recent work has focused on pouring new sidewalks and improving stormwater infrastructure along College Avenue. Crews have already completed concrete work past Loose Change and are continuing north toward North Clemson Avenue.

Construction will also extend to the area in front of Judge Keller’s, bringing another section of downtown closer to completion.

These improvements are designed to create wider, safer sidewalks while modernizing the underground drainage system that serves downtown Clemson.

Addison Lane Temporarily Closed

Beginning July 10, Addison Lane will be closed to allow construction crews to install new stormwater infrastructure and realign the plaza area.

The temporary closure is necessary so crews can safely complete underground utility work before rebuilding the surface streetscape.

Traffic Changes Remain in Place

Motorists traveling through downtown should expect:

• Two lanes of traffic will remain open on College Avenue.
• No on-street parking within the active construction zone.
• Periodic traffic adjustments as work progresses toward completion.

• Free parking for the first four hours in metered spaces within the parking deck.

• A short walk to most destinations in the construction area.
