The goats are plotting another escape.
The Pickens Police Department has announced that the popular Goats on the Run event will return to downtown Pickens in July 2026, bringing another summer of clues, mystery, treats, and family fun.
Designed for children and families, Goats on the Run transforms downtown Pickens into an interactive scavenger hunt. Participants become “Junior Detectives” as they search for runaway goats hidden throughout downtown businesses, solve clues, and follow the trail to complete the adventure.
What makes the event special is that it encourages families to slow down and explore downtown Pickens together. Along the way, children discover local shops, meet business owners, and enjoy plenty of surprises as they work to crack the case.
The Pickens Police Department first created the event as a fun way to connect with the community, and it has quickly become one of the most anticipated family activities of the summer. Returning detectives know that every year brings new clues, new challenges, and plenty of laughs.
Whether you’re a longtime Pickens resident or visiting the area for the first time, Goats on the Run offers a unique way to experience downtown while creating lasting family memories.
